Caring for our community
Our Parish believes in serving our community and supporting people who need a helping hand. We do this through a range of different ministries providing meals, fellowship, emergency relief, legal assistance, health clinics and laundry services. Find out more about them below.

Anglican Soup Kitchen
Our volunteers provide a lunchtime soup kitchen each Thursday from 12pm to 1pm on the Christ Church grounds in Bundaberg. This ministry offers a free meal to Centrelink card holders and other members of the community who are in need.
Our clergy and volunteers are also available for a chat at the soup kitchen. We have a short prayer service during lunch to which all are warmly invited.
We’re grateful to all the support we receive from our Parish members, local businesses, schools and the general community who make donations of food and funds towards the Soup Kitchen.
We greatly value our partnership with the God's Squad Christian Motorcycle Club (formerly The Crossroads Biker Church). Funds raised by their Annual Grub Run and Blanket Ride support our community ministries to those who are struggling and suffering hardship.
Saturday Night Sausage Sizzle
We host a free Saturday Night Sausage Sizzle at Christ Church from 4pm to 5pm each week.
Emergency Relief
Our Ministry also provides emergency relief to those in need by giving a free grocery parcel. It is located at Christ Church. The service is available from 12pm to 1pm on Mondays or at other times by reaching out to clergy or to our Parish Office.
The support we receive from the community is exceptional. One of the highlights is the annual Crossroads Biker Church Grub Run.

BEACH (Bundaberg Easy Access Community Health)
BEACH is a free medical clinic on the second and fourth Thursdays at the same time as the Soup Kitchen. They provide GP services to people without means or ability to see another health professional.
Bundaberg Street Law
Bundaberg Street Law is a free accredited legal service for those in need. Street Law is co-located with wrap-around support services, ensuring that clients receive holistic care and assistance. It operates on a “walk in” basis. No appointment is required. Street Law is not open on public holidays. See https://bundystreetlaw.com/ for more information.
Street Law is at Christ Church on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays from 11.30am to 1.00pm and every Saturday from 3.30pm to 5.00pm.
Lions showers and washing machines
Each Thursday from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, the Hinkler Lions Club provides free showers and laundry facilities from their mobile van, in our Woongarra St Bundaberg carpark.
