The Anglican Parish of Bundaberg welcomes those who come for baptism (Christening), marriage in the church, and extends sympathy to those who have lost loved ones and offers our assistance in your grief, in arrangements for the funeral, and afterwards.

We also offer admission to holy communion for children and confirmation for young adults and older.

Baptisms

We love baptisms! The baptism service symbolises the cleansing work of Jesus Christ in our lives and his victory over death. It is an occasion of great joy. If a baby is being baptised, godparents and parents promise before God to raise their child to know and follow Jesus Christ.

There is no fee for a baptism. It is a privilege and a pleasure for us to be able to offer this sacrament. Some people wish to make a gift in thanksgiving. To do so, you may put your gift in the offering plate, or give it to the priest who takes your baptism service, or donate here.

In time, children may strengthen and recommit themselves to Christ in confirmation.

Weddings

It is our delight to be able to solemnise holy matrimony through a Christian service in accordance with the liturgy and practice of the Anglican Church of Australia. You do not need to be a regular attender for a marriage service to be held at our churches. However, at least one of the bride and groom must be baptised.

Each of our three churches are available for weddings, catering for different wedding atmospheres and sizes from the Cathedral-like and grand Christ Church to quaint St Peter’s to the beautiful and intimate St John The Divine.

Funerals

‘I am the Resurrection and the life,’ says the Lord. ‘Those who believe in me, even though they die, yet will they live.’

A Christian funeral marks the ending of life in this world and the celebration of life in the next. It is a service of homecoming.

We know that death is not the end of life, but a transition to the heavenly realm.

A funeral is time of both celebration of the life of a loved one, and a time of mourning for the loss of someone we dearly love.

We offer funeral services in our churches, but also in chapels at funeral homes, cemeteries and crematoriums and at the graveside.
